"Winter landscape with a river" - 76 x 200 cm, oil on canvas, 1907. National Museum in Warsaw. The painting deserves special attention because of the simplicity and clarity of composition. Fałat applied the low point of view so that the viewer focuses attention on the river bank covered with heavy snow cornice and reflections in the water. In the foreground we can see additional elements which are game tracks. The local colour of shadows (blue) and lights (pink) is masterfully used. The fragments of a river bank free of snow are decorated in various shades of brown - it's not covered with paint, exploiting the natural color of cardboard. In the painting the artist presented a vision of the river at night, where because of snow it is so light and clear as during the day.
